Fashion Revolution Week : Traditional Weaving Technique Production

PRESOV, SLOVAKIA - APRIL 28: Miroslava Stanova outlines the design on the fabric that was hand-woven by her partner Matus Mucka which she will sew a vest from during the global Fashion Revolution Week on April 28, 2023 in Presov, Slovakia. The loom studio called My tkame (eng. We weave) based in Slovakia, uses the traditional technique of weaving to bring sustainable fashion and embrace the skill that was passed on from generation to generation in the family of the co-owner of the studio, Miroslava Stanova. Fashion Revolution Week was founded 10 years ago in response to the Rana Plaza disaster of a garment factory in Bangladesh to become the world's most significant fashion activism movement, mobilizing citizens, brands and policymakers through research, education and advocacy. Fashion Revolution Week organizers aim to bring attention to this disaster and the victims of the disaster as well as engage society to discuss environmental and human exploitation in the global fashion industry, bring awareness to safe dignified working conditions and living wages for all people in the supply chain, to build fashion industry on principles that take in consideration precious resources and regenerate ecosystems, heritage, craftsmanship and local wisdom among other goals.
