Police Patrol Polish Border As Migrant Numbers Rise
FRANKFURT (ODER), GERMANY - OCTOBER 12: German federal police looking for undocumented migrants check a car that had just crossed the border from Poland into Germany on October 12, 2021 in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. Police are reporting a dramatic increase in the numbers of undocumented migrants arriving in Germany from Poland, with over 800 arriving in the state of Brandenburg within the last week alone. Most of the migrants are originally from countries including Iran, Iraq and Yemen. Many are arriving via Belarus, which has allowed migrants from Iraq to fly to Belarus and let them try to reach neighboring countries in the European Union from there.
