General Election 2010: Gordon Brown campaigns in a Brighton college with Eddie Izzard; Brown addresses audience SOT - I just want to say something about the big challenges in this campaign / Over next 15 years global economy will double in size - twice as many businesses / Huge number of new opportunities around the world for everyone / Will digitalise whole of UK - super fast broadband everywhere / We have the inventor of the Internet (Tim Berners-Lee) working with us to develop semantic web / Huge medical advances in this country / Great creative industries in this country - fashion, design, music - so will be plenty of oppourunities if we work for them / We have to secure economic recovery and ensure growth in economy over next few years / Lots of jobs businesses and services will be at risk over next few years if we do not / If you cut £6 billion from economy - that is jobs at risk, businesses at risk / During campaign I'll be explaining to people don't let the Conservatives ruin the recovery / Whilst we try and cut deficit that was necessary to save us from high unemployment we want to ensure frontline services are protected / In some communities there is a danger there will be less police and less safety if the Conservatives get in / Conservatives cannot give assurances on protecting schools either
