Senator Feinstein supports confirming Wray for FBI Director

California Senator Dianne Feinstein says that she was satisfied with responses from Christopher Wray that torture is wrong, unacceptable, illegal and ineffective, having testified under oath that he did not participate in the drafting of torture memos while at the office of legal counsel in the Bush administration. Feinstein notes that Ray committed to read a Senate Intelligence Committee report on detention and interrogation by the Bush administration and the FBI, to supporting an investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller with a tough job ahead of them. Feinstein notes that former director Jim Comey told Congress that the Bureau had a counterterrorism investigation in virtually every state in the union, that the subject of ongoing investigations and attempts of President Donald Trump to bully his own Attorney General make for challenging circumstances, but raise up to the task of leading an agency of over 30,000 agents.
