Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia/ Spain. It is located on the Mediterranean sea, about 120 kilometers south of the Pyrenees and the border with France. Within the urban area, about 1.6 million people live. The Sagrada Família is a Roman Catholic basilica. The construction of the church is designed by Antoni Gaudí and begun in 1882. It is planned to be completed in 2026 on the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death.
In 2005, the UNESCO added the façade, the apse façade and the crypt to their World Cultural Heritage of work of Antoni Gaudí.
