Refugees Seek To Reach Northern Europe Via Italy
INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA - JULY 22: A 75-year-old woman from Kabul, Afghanistan, walks the street with her grandchild in front of a refugee camp at a business park on July 22, 2015 in Innsbruck, Austria. She said she was hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) on a weekly market in Kabul and lost her leg five years ago. The route from Rome to Bolzano and further on into Germany becomes more popular daily. According to local politicians up to 100 refugees and migrants pass through the city of Bolzano daily in an attempt to reach the Brenner Pass and to continue their journey through Austria into North Europe. European Union nations are currently bickering over how to distribute 40,000 refugees camped in Italy and Greece more fairly throughout Europe, though some members, including Austria and the Czech Republic, are flat out refusing to accept any more refugees.
