Woman Puts Tape Measure To Other'S Leg
(Original Caption) 6/28/56-White Plains, New York: Sally Leech puts the tape measure to the leg of Marilyn Veasey on Main Street in White Plains to see how she stands in the big matter of too-little shorts in the Westchester community. The White Plains ordance against shorts shorts says such apparel should be no shorter than halfway between thigh and knee. The edict has brought varied reactions on the subject. A survey in New York's Greenwich Village indicated the stores don't need to throw away their stock because of two White Plains arrests. Others believe the brief shorts belong in the suburbs not on Main Streets.
