U.S. Marines Speak With Rutgers University Undergrads During A Recruitment Drive

The controversy over the war in Iraq has made recruiting for all branches of the US military more difficult. Some US high schools and universities have barred military recruiters from entering their schools and campuses. Schools that receive public funds are required under the Solomon Amendment to permit US military recruiters onto their grounds. The Solomon Amendment, initially pushed by the Pentagon, is being challenged in the Supreme Court by a group of law schools claiming the US military services discriminate against gays and should therefore not be allowed on campuses.
