To coincide with the American Bi-Centenary celebrations currentlybeing held in Sydney, the Opera House is the venue for an exhibition entitled, "200 Tears of The Performing Arte in the United States", which includes mementos of famous American Artists.A collection of costumes has been sent from the Metropolitan Opera in New York for the exhibition. Some of these ere quite old and some hare been won by Australias Joan Sutherland for performances at the Metropolitan. The exhibition opens tomorrow, Saturday.Opera House employees Margaret McLeod of Strathfield, and Pauline Mcilhatton of Earlwood are pictured wearing costumes from the Metropolitan Opera in New York and loaned for the exhibition.
