June 13, 1972: These fans are waiting in line for a classic - Rolling Stones at the Winterland Ballroom, with Stevie Wonder opening. Chronicle photographer Dave Randolph took photos of fans lining up around the block of the ice arena-turned-concert hall at Post and Steiner streets. This was just before the release of the classics ""Exile on Main Street"" and ""Talking Book,"" with both artists playing heavily from both. Note the cop on the sidewalk talking to the fans waiting in line - judging only by the huge sideburns, we're guessing he wasn't harshing anyone's good vibes.
