On January 8th, 2020 Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 was on a schedule to depart from Tehran to Canada via Kiev. The Boeing 737-800 was shot down shortly after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport and never made it to its destination. The plane was shot by 2 missiles by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). All 176 passengers and crew were perished.
