Supporters of the French L2 football club Guingamp are gathered on May 9, 2009 in Guingamp, western France, as they watch on a giant screen the French Cup final football match opposing Stade Rennais to Guingamp. Rennes, seventh in the top flight and with an eye on Europe via the league should they slip up against their second tier rivals, have won the trophy twice, in 1965 and 1971 while they also lost two pre-war finals. Guingamp, in contrast, have never won the competition, agonisingly missing out in a penalty shootout against Nice in 1997.
