World War Two: No.312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF

Sergeant Pilot Bohumil Votruba was killed on 6th May 1941 in a flying accident whilst on operational patrol. On 23rd June 1942 Flight Lieutenant Alois Vasatko collided in mid-air with a Luftwaffe Fw 190 flown by Unteroffizier Wilhelm Reuschling of 7./JG 2 whilst providing fighter escort to a bombing mission over Brittany in France destroying both aircraft (Photo by William Vanderson/Fox Photos/Hulton Archive/Getty Images).
