Freshmen House Members-elect Attend Orientation
UNITED STATES - NOVEMBER 13: Rep.-Elect Doug Lamborn (R--Colo., 5th District), jokes with an aide at the start of the House Administration orientation session for freshmen members of the U.S. House, who will take office in January 2007. Besides the orientation sessions this week, members-elect will have a group photo taken, and House Administration Committee Chairman Vern Ehlers, R-Mich., will host a reception honoring the class at the Botanical Gardens. The most crucial event of the week, from the new members' perspective, will come on Friday, Nov. 17, when a lottery will be held to allot office space. Those with the lowest lottery numbers get first choice of suites available after returning members have chosen their digs for the next two years. (Photo by Scott J.
