Preferring the slower pace of life, McKinney enjoys wading in the tropical water in front of his beachfront home in Laie, located on the North Shore of Oahu, which he is rebuilding. DeWayne McKinney, 44, has found love, success, peace and happiness on the shores of Oahu, Hawaii, his new home, after being wrongfully imprisoned for 19 years for an Orange County murder he didn't commit. McKinney, who dropped out of high school in the 11th grade, used a modest legal settlement to start up an ATM business on Oahu and owns seven pieces of real estate in Hawaii and California.
