COLOGNE, Germany: A pilgrim looks at the light coming through the stained-glass windows inside Cologne's Cathedral on the second day of the 20th edition, 17 August 2005. Young Catholics were thronging the streets of Cologne 17 August as they waited eagerly for the first foreign visit of Pope Benedict XVI. Around 400,000 pilgrims from across the globe are expected to pour into Cologne and neighbouring cities in the Rhineland for the World Youth Days jamboree which will reach its climax when the pope gives a giant open-air mass 21 August.
