Onlookers from left to right Erica Hanley, Adam Keyser, and Zach Seipp, all of Golden, watch the Indian Gulch Fire from Lookout Mountain Road. As winds pick up, the Indian Gulch Fire burning in the mountains northwest of Golden continues to grow in scope - now at 150 acres - and intensity, according to a spokeswoman with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. A helicopter arrived on the scene and is dropping water on the fire raging on Mount Galbraith between Clear Creek and Golden Gate canyons. A single engine air tanker that would have dropped flame retardant was grounded with mechanical problems, according to spokeswoman Jacki Kelley. A half dozen agencies have joined forces to battle the fire, which for now is heading west and away from homes and other structures. Engines are standing by in the nearby Mountain Ridge subdivision along Colorado Highway 93 should westerly winds change direction. Golden Police issued a reverse 911 call earlier today alerting residents to the blaze "just in case," Kelley said. Photo by Helen H. Richardson/The Denver Post (Photo By Helen H.
