Palace on the Peacock Island is being renovated
PRODUCTION - 17 November 2022, Berlin: The castle on Peacock Island is scaffolded and the facade is covered by a white tarpaulin. The little castle, built more than 200 years ago almost entirely of wood, has to be renovated because of its dilapidated condition. The work is also complicated by the fact that the Havel Island on the state border between Berlin and Brandenburg is located in a designated landscape conservation area. According to the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg, the closure period will last a total of six years. The reopening is planned for 2025.
