Lost Work of Composer Vivaldi Discovered
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - AUGUST 9: Musicologist Janice Stockigt from the University of Melbourne speaks to an audience about the music she dicovered by the 18th-century composer Antonio Vivaldi August 9, 2005 in Melbourne, Australia. The lost work was discovered by Stockigt in May this year, and has been described by Vivaldi experts as the biggest find in 75 years. Today's performance of part of the work by musicians of the university's Baroque Ensemble is believed to be it's first performance in 250 years. The piece is an 11-movement Dixit Dominus based on Psalm 109 for choir and an orchestra, and was intended to be played in church. (Photo by Sean Garnsworthy/Getty Images)
