Ameristar Casinos is putting the finishing touches on a $200 million renovation of the former Mountain High Casino in Black Hawk. The Las Vegas-based company bought the casino -- the last new casino built in Colorado's premier gaming town -- in December 2004 for $117 million. Craig Neilsen, a quadriplegic, is the CEO of Ameristar and will be in town on Thursday for the casino's grand re-opening. His spinal cord was severed when his Porsche 911 was struck from behind by another vehicle in 1976.
