50th Anniversary of the Tall Ships Races 2006

Lisbon has a very important nautical event the “50th Anniversary of the Tall Ships Races 2006” with about 80 sailing ships of various classes involved, amongst them some of the most impressive Sailing Ships of the world. The fleet will bring to our town over 3000 youngsters of different nationalities, between crews and trainees.The realisation of this great Sailing Festival results from an agreement signed by the Mayor of Lisbon and the President of the Sail Training International the institution which annually organises these races and to which Portugal is affiliated thru APORVELA.Pictured Lord Nelson - Class A (UK) (Photo by CityFiles/Getty Images)
