Henry Ford, American car manufacturer, with his son Edsel, circa 1920. Henry Ford (1863-1947) founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903. He pioneered modern 'assembly line' mass production techniques for his famous Model T motor car. Fifteen million Model T motor cars were produced between 1908 and 1928.
