JUL 16 1965, JUL 17 1965 Floods - Denver ***** Residents of the flood-battered Valverde area in South West Denver were told at a meeting Friday night that the city and various agencies can help ease the blow but that there is no way to spare them all the loss. Mayor Tom Currigan and councilman Irving Hook, whose district includes Valverde along W. Alameda Ave. West of the South Platte River, called the meeting at Rishel Junior High School, 451 S.Tejon St. About 200 persons attended. Currigan said the meeting was called to "clarify for every person here just what help the city government and other agencies can render" and "to clear up much, much ***** about available help.
