Seventy years after a tornado tossed Dorothy into the Land of Oz, a small Kansas town is capitalizing on the fact that there's no place like home. In the past, Wamego had largely served as a bedroom community for the nearby town of Manhattan, and the State Capitol, Topeka. While this is still true, since the opening of the Oz Museum in 2003, Wamego has become a tourist destination, among pasture and prairie, drawing an average of 20,000 visitors a year.
