Turkish Air Force Museum in Ankara illuminates the past of aerial military history

ANKARA, TURKIYE - JULY 09: Busts and biographies of important figures who made significant contributions to the history of Turkish aviation, such as Mahmut Sevket Pasha, Zeki Dogan and Sabiha Gokcen, are also displayed in the museum's exhibition area, along with combat, reconnaissance, training, transport and liaison aircraft that have served the Turkish Air Force, as well as helicopters and several aircraft donated by foreign air forces in Ankara, Turkiye on July 09, 2024. These include the MIG-21 donated by the Hungarian Air Force, the MIG-19 donated by the Pakistan Air Force, and the MIG-17 donated by the Bulgarian Air Force. The exhibition features aircraft from the Turkish Air Force aerobatic teams such as the F-86E (Flying Swans) and the F-5A (Turkish Stars), as well as aircraft used in the Cyprus Peace Operation including the F-84G, F-100C, and F-104G. Additionally, the collection includes the TF-102A, the only delta-wing aircraft in the Turkish Air Force inventory, the AK-1 (Golden Wings), which completed the Istanbul-Cairo flight in 2001, engines from the F-100 and F-104 aircraft, and various air-to-air and air-to-ground missile systems, bombs, and ammunition systems used by the Turkish Air Force over different periods.
