Boothtown is a suburb within Town Ward of Halifax, very close to the town centre. Its history was dominated by the mills of the textile industry. Halifax is a town in the borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire and was a thriving mill town during the industrial revolution. Nowadays, while the town is showing positive signs of regeneration in some areas, the economic downturn in the UK and other recent factors has resulted in signs of a once prosperous town currently struggling economically.
