NEGEV DESERT, ISRAEL: Israeli armor flip open various types of portable bridges so that military vehicles including tanks, one of which fires a shell (top, R), can cross an anti-tank trench as the Israeli army puts on a massive training operation on an Isralei base in the Uvda Valley in the southern Negev Desert, 13 October 2004. The training exercise involved infantry, armor corps, engineers and air force and the objective was to take a Palestinian town, constructed mostly of small wood houses. The exercise was for Israeli army officers who are completing their training in "modern urban warfare". AFP PHOTO/EPA POOL/Jim HOLLANDER (Photo credit should read JIM HOLLANDER/AFP via Getty Images)
