Venezuelan parliamentary president Guaidó has declared the socialist government of Maduro to be deprived of power and has proclaimed himself head of state in transition. Minutes later, US President Donald Trump recognized the opposition leader as the legitimate interim president of the corruption- and poverty-stricken country.
